BOOST IMMUNITY AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

Redmond Selenium 90 is a premium ancient trace mineral salt, fortified with added selenium (90ppm), copper, manganese, cobalt, iodine, and zinc.

SOLUTIONS FOR EVERY HERD

We know that no two cattle herds are the same. Geography, genetics, season, operation size, and many other factors can cause fluctuations in the nutritional needs of beef cattle. We know that one size doesn’t fit all.

IMPROVING IMMUNITY

Selenium is an antioxidant. Antioxidants, like selenium, keep excess free radicals in check and protect cells from oxidative stress. They accomplish this by neutralizing free radicals with the electron they need.

Once ingested, dietary selenium also becomes incorporated into at least 25 different proteins. These selenoproteins regulate the immune system and prevent it from harmfully overreacting. According to the National Institute of Health, “Dietary selenium (Se), mainly through its incorporation into selenoproteins, plays an important role in inflammation and immunity. Adequate levels of Se are important for initiating immunity, but they are also involved in regulating excessive immune responses and chronic inflammation.”

OREGON STATE PREGNANCY STUDY

Supplementing trace minerals during the last trimester is extremely beneficial for mother and calf, even if they do not test as mineral deficient. Reinaldo Cooke, PhD, at Oregon State University, conducted a study on the effects of organic trace mineral supplements during the 3rd trimester.

Which livestock species can eat Selenium 90?

Selenium 90 can be offered to all classes of livestock and is frequently used with cattle and sheep (follow ration instructions on packaging for each species).

How do I know if my animals need extra selenium?

Selenium deficiencies can be found in vet conducted blood tests, milk tests, and living liver biopsies. Poor reproductive and immune health are also a strong sign of deficiency for all species of livestock.

Why did my animals eat it so fast?

After switching to Redmond, some animals temporarily increase their mineral salt intake. Other mineral mixes contain byproducts and fillers that force them to slow their consumption; resulting in some mineral deficiencies. After Redmond helps normalize their blood mineral levels, their intake should taper off.

They may also be craving extra electrolytes due to weather or life stage stresses.

Used this product for about a year on our pastured hair sheep operation. Over time our sheep developed many health problems that we had never experienced in the many years before we used Redmond. We had several ewes tested for micro minerals and they were very high in iron and low in most other nutrients. We had the Redmond selenium 90 mineral tested at a lab and it had 2 ppm selenium! Iron was much high than stated and most other minerals were much lower than what is stated on the “guaranteed analysis”. The vet was not surprised and said Redmond has a poor reputation in the vet community. Do your research before using this product.

Super selenium

We gave our cattle a choice between regular and selenium, the selenium tub is empty way before the regular. I think that review speaks volumes!

Hi Twila, Thank you for choosing Selenium 90 and sharing your success! We love to hear that your herd is thriving, and we love being a part of it. We sure appreciate you being a part of The Redmond Family!

Consumption

I have not had it out long enough to see a decisive opinion but I thought that my cows would over consume. My cows eat it every day and they are looking better.

Isn't is remarkable that animals know what they need and how much. Nature simply does it right. Thank you for choosing Redmond Agriculture and we look forward to serving you and your cows again!
