At Redmond Agriculture, we understand that when your animals feel good, you feel good. That’s why we offer Redmond Goat Mineral Rock on a Rope- a premium sea salt with naturally occurring essential trace minerals. Redmond Goat Mineral Rock on a Rope can be hung and offered free choice.

GOATS NEED MINERALS

Goats are browsers and have a reputation for nibbling on anything from your hat to the kitchen sink. However, they are much more discriminating about what they consume. Goats obtain their mineral needs from forage, feed, and sometimes water supply. Deficiencies are on the rise because feeds and forage often lack the correct quantity and spectrum of minerals goats require for optimum health. According to Mamoon Rashid, sheep and goat specialist with Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and Rural Initiatives, a free-choice supplement of loose minerals and salts will effectively help you meet the minerals demands of your herd.

King of Goat Mineral Products

My goats were already on a loose mineral product (not Redmond) and often left it untouched for long periods of time. I got the Redmond rock on a rope for each of my herds (dairy goats in small groups according to their lactation status) and without exception every single goat devoured the rock, licking little divots in it with extreme pleasure. They clearly preferred this product over what they were already offered. I was truly amazed and how well every single one was so enthusiastic about it, especially since I thought I was already providing for all their nutritional needs. Clearly the rock contains something they were craving. On here this morning doing a reorder. I never want to run out.

WoW Marci! Your goats are fortunate to have you as their mom and we are fortunate to have you as part of our Redmond Ag family! Thank you for sharing your experience and success. We look forward to serving you and your herd again. Watch for a bag of our Goat Mineral Mix just to say thanks for your raving review!

Great option where it’s not ideal for a container of salt

We have loose salt in containers for does inside the barn, but when we moved the bucks to a small outdoor shelter, they needed a form of salt that couldn’t easily be spilled out when I wouldn’t see it daily. So the rock on a rope is perfect. They get access to a reliable source of salt constantly. It’s clean and out of the weather, it’s a great option.

Love the rock - Rope is gone

As with all things, the goats went for the rope first and the rock fell within hours. The enjoy the rock but the rope didn’t work out.

Hi Teri-Lee,
Thank you for choosing Redmond Rock and letting us know about your rope. I have passed that along to our team and they are searching to find something that is 'goat-proof' -- if there is such a thing :)
Thank you and enjoy!
